Capital City Junior Flute Choir
The Capital City Junior Flute Choir (CCJFC) gives young flute players in the Treasure Valley an opportunity to grow as musicians, perform with their peers, and experience the unique sound of a flute ensemble. Now in its second year, the CCJFC is open to students in grades 7–12 who are youth members of the Capital City Flute Club. Younger students may also be considered through an audition to determine their readiness for the ensemble.
The Junior Flute Choir rehearses weekly on Thursdays beginning in October, preparing engaging flute choir music selected specifically with developing student musicians in mind. CCJFC performs throughout the season, including opportunities to appear in concerts alongside the Capital City Flute Orchestra.
Through rehearsals and performances, students develop their ensemble skills, musicianship, confidence, and experience playing flute choir repertoire in a welcoming and supportive environment. The CCJFC provides a unique opportunity for middle school flute players in the Boise and Treasure Valley area to make music with other young musicians who share their enthusiasm for the flute.
An additional CCJFC participation fee applies and helps cover the cost of sheet music, rehearsal space, performance venues, and other ensemble expenses.
As our youth flute program continues to grow, the Capital City Flute Club hopes to expand our offerings to include a separate high school and junior high flute choir in the future, creating additional opportunities for young flute players throughout the Treasure Valley.
